From The Jam

From The Jam have just announced a special one-off UK concert at the Whitehaven Civic Hall in Cumbria on Sunday 25th of May. Tickets go on sale this week. Says founding Jam bass guitarist Bruce Foxton - "We are really excited to be coming back to Whitehaven to play another show. Last year’s sold out gig was phenomenal. We’ve just returned from playing sold out shows across America and Canada. The reaction from the other countries has been overwhelming." This is second time ’From The Jam’ will play the Civic Hall in nine months (they first time they played to a sold out crowd at the Civic Hall was on 31st August 2007)
Tickets are £20 (+£1.50 booking fee for non-CalCARD holders)
The Bluetones

The Bluetones are releasing their new album "The Bluetones Collection" and to celebrate, they are kicking off a UK Tour starting form the 9th May 2008.
They visit the Civic Hall as their second date on the tour, Tickets are £16.50 (£15.50 CalCARD holders)

The Ricky Tomlinson Laughter Show

From Brookside to the Royle Family, award winning TV personality Ricky Tomlinson comes to Whitehaven along with special guests Tony Barton (Coronation Street), Pauline Daniels (The Comedians) and Stevie Riks (The North's top comedy impressionist).
Although best known for his role as a couch potato, Jim Royle, offscreen Ricky has been for more interesting. He has been a plasterer, banjo player, comic, union agitator, political activist, award winning actor and an unwilling guest at Her Majesty's Service. He has now embarked on a stand up tour and is guaranteed to bring a fantastic night of entertainment!
